Horaica is an art-science installation that tries to enhance plants’ capability and understanding (feeling/ seeing) of our local environment through their senses. It does so through a spatial artistic installation that engages with the visitor. The title of the artwork comes from the name of the ancient Greek goddesses who were sisters, the Horai (aka Horae, Hours) who are the goddesses of seasons and natural portions of time. Since the time when human beings began constructing cities, we have included plants in the urban scape. The Monatom is sound and laser-light installation. Sound and laser-light are synthesized from bit-data (such as 01010011) of words. This installation is simile to a nonexistent life-form on the earth. The installation represents a dynamic reaction such a chemical reaction of biochemical substances in a cell or DNA processing as lights and sounds.
